Meet Dr. Turek
Dr. Turek was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, but grew up in California, specifically the Silicon Valley area, because her father was an engineer for IBM. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she had worked as a dental assistant; she enjoyed the field so much that she decided to pursue a career in dentistry.
After completing her doctorate in San Francisco and professional training (residency) in North Miami Beach, she joined the NC Department of Health and Human Services to provide dental care in the rural areas of North Carolina, where it is difficult to find. She spent more than seven years working in clinics to provide dental care to the underserved and continues to love her work today.
What she loves about her job is making people smile: Her goal with every patient is to have them leave the dentist chair with a positive, pain-free experience and feeling good about their smile. As a lifelong lover of the beach, she tries to stay as close as she can to the sand and waves.
