Meet Dr. Vasamsetti
Mississippi native Dr. Prasad Vasamsetti is a Raleigh dentist who specializes in general and cosmetic dentistry. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2005. Since graduating, Dr. Vasamsetti pursued a residency in advanced education in general dentistry at Florida’s Nova Southeastern University, as well as a master’s in business administration with a concentration in health sector management at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
Following his studies, Dr. Vasamsetti went on to become the director of dental services for the Pender County Health Department. During his time there, he sought to meet oral health needs in the community by launching Forever Smiles — a children’s mobile dental clinic that has been the subject of multiple prestigious awards, such as the GlaxoSmithKline Child Recognition Award. Forever Smiles was also awarded the North Carolina Outstanding County Program Award in recognition of its comprehensive dental service to underserved populations.
Today, Dr. Vasamsetti serves the Raleigh community at Axial Dental, where he has established a reputation for providing outstanding general and cosmetic dental care to his patients. He is a proud member of the Academy of General Dentistry, whose principle function is to encourage “excellence through education and advocacy.”
In keeping with this philosophy, Dr. Vasamsetti continues to expand his education and stay aware of the latest breakthroughs in dentistry. In addition, Dr. Vasamsetti is an Invisalign® Preferred Provider, someone who has a significant level of experience in treating patients with the Invisalign System.
Outside of the office, Dr. Vasamsetti continues to serve his community as the chairman of the board of directors at St. Mary’s Health Clinic, where he also works as a volunteer dental care provider in his spare time. He is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of North Carolina’s Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. There, he oversees clinical instruction of third- and fourth-year dental students.
When he isn’t helping change the lives of patients in and around Raleigh, Dr. Vasamsetti can be found playing competitive tennis, traveling, and spending sunny days out on the water with his four-legged companion, Abby.
